Led Lanterns

The life of man improved with the discovery of fire. Gradually, human beings felt the greater need for lighting and discovered newer ways to get light. Later on, they started using oil and gas as fuel. At that time, lanterns came into existance. Traditional lanterns use oil and gas as fuels. However, these lanterns have a number of disadvantages like air pollution, health hazards, dim light, etc. Taking all these disadvantages into consideration, ‘Led Lanterns’ are discovered.

These led lanterns are very popular nowadays and do not pose any health hazards. Led lanterns are based on the concept of led i.e. Light Emitting Diode. There are a number of led lanterns available in the market both online as well as offline. Here, i am giving you an overview of the led lanterns available.

Mini led lantern:- It is a small lantern with 4×1 .2/1.5 AA batteries. It has an XR-E7090 P4 led emitter.
It has a three mode adjustable switch through which you can adjust its brightness according to your needs. It can be used for more than ten hours at a stretch, if used on low mode. Moreover, this mini lantern is water resistant and doesnot produce much heat.
It is available just for $14.

Solar Camping led lantern;- This lantern comes with a solar panel and is charged through solar energy. It can be used for upto 24 hours. It produces bright white light. Moreover, it is rust proof and scratch proof. Its light weight makes this solar camping lantern highly portable. It is most suitable for camping, hiking, etc.

Rechargeable led lantern;- This lantern comes with 44 light emitting diodes which produces huge amount of bright light. It is very elegant with stylish looks. It has a unique feature of automatic lighting in case of power failure. Moreover, it is light in weight and can be easily mounted on the wall.

LED Lantern:- This lantern has a unique feature which tells the user when it it charging and when is it charged. The led turns red when the lantern is charging, while it becomes green when properly charged. It uses minimum amount of electricity and produces adequate amount of brightness. It can be operated in two ways, online and offline. In online mode, the lantern switches on automatically during power cuts and vice versa. In offline mode, lantern is operated manually. Moreover, it can be used anywhere and in any weather. It has a working life of 100000 hours with a replaceable battery.

These are some of the best Led Lanterns available in the market. All these led lanterns have some common features like all of these are environment friendly, non polluting, portable, uses minimum power or no power(in case of solar lanterns), gives good amount of brightness and so on. Therefore, before buying a lantern for yourself, you should take into consideration the unique features, price, design and of course its suitability.

Whether you require a tool for security, wildlife watching, or law enforcement purposes, night vision binoculars might be what you are looking for. Night vision binoculars have a singular purpose: to allow you to see in the dark. The human eye is only able to utilize visible light of the spectral range. Many night vision binoculars compensate for this by incorporating active infrared and/or thermal imaging technologies. While there are many brands and price ranges to choose from, night vision binoculars all work on the same premise and have similar parts: an objective lens, an eyepiece, a power supply and an image intensifier tube or photocathode tube.

The lens gathers existing, available light. A larger lens will have better capability for gathering light. That light then goes through the intensifier tube or photocathode tube where it changes from photon to electron, is amplified through an electro-chemical process, and is projected onto a phosphorus screen. The viewer is now able to see the greenish colored image. In some of the more expensive binoculars, the image is black and white.

There are four generations of Night vision binoculars
. Generation 1 uses the technology described above and accounts for most of the night vision devices in use worldwide. Gen 1 binoculars are reasonably affordable and come with varying features. Gen 2 binoculars are used primarily in law enforcement and by other professionals. The main difference is the addition of a micro-channel plate or MCP, which amplifies the electrons even more, producing a sharper, clearer image. The better image is reflected in a higher price, typically up to $1000 more than a Gen 1 binocular. Generation 3 utilizes a sensitive chemical, gallium arsenide, in the intensifiers tube producing an even brighter, sharper image. These binoculars are used primarily by military and law enforcement and can cost up to $11,000. Finally, the most recent generation, Gen 4 has superior range capability, unparalleled image resolution, and can operate in extremely low light conditions. The Gen 4 binocular will also cost you around $16,000.

When purchasing Night vision binoculars, there are a few things to consider: intended use, price, longevity, and local regulations. Depending on what type of activity you intend to engage in, you may not need the most sophisticated device. A Gen 1 pair of binoculars may be suitable. On the other hand, if you are willing to spend more money and want something with higher capabilities, then look at purchasing something in the Gen 2 category. Also, consider how long you plan to use your binoculars. It may be worth it to spend a little more to get something with a better warranty or better construction. The last thing to consider is local regulation. Some countries have restrictions on what type of optics are importable or exportable. You may be required to apply for permits from federal authorities prior to purchasing or selling night vision binoculars.

The variety of Night vision binoculars is huge. Make sure to do your homework. Research brands and read reviews prior the purchasing. Once you have your binoculars, have fun, and enjoy!

Easy Thanksgiving Recipes

Thanksgiving is about spending time with your family and not a time to slave all day and night preparing food in your kitchen. No matter if you’re a cook preparing their first Thanksgiving meal or are a seasoned veteran who just wants to prepare an easy Thanksgiving recipe for your guests there are many recipes that look great and taste great but are relatively simple to prepare for your holiday meal.

Every Thanksgiving meal needs a meat and traditionally hams and turkeys are cooked as a large meal for many guests to eat. Hams are the easiest to cook and only need to be unthawed, if frozen, and cooked for three to four hours depending on the size in the oven. Some; however, do not like ham or do not eat pork because of certain personal and religious preferences. In this case a turkey will work best and while it requires more prep time, it isn’t difficult. The easiest Thanksgiving Recipes involve stuffing the turkey with large chunks of vegetables, such as onion, celery and carrots that are seasoned heavily with spices such as sage, parsley and thyme. Brush or pour a butter and olive oil mixture on the skin of the bird and place on a roasting pan and in the oven to roast for three to four hours. Be sure to check the turkey every hour to make sure it is cooking properly and is staying moist. The bird may need the occasional basting to ensure that the meat inside and out stays tender and doesn’t dry out.

Side dishes placed on a holiday dinner table can encompass many different foods, most of which tend to be easy Thanksgiving Recipes. A popular side dish for guests to eat for Thanksgiving dinner is mashed potatoes. Boil smaller, red skinned potatoes until softened and drain the water. The potatoes should be cut into small pieces and skinned if needed. Mash the potatoes in a large pot and add sour cream and garlic salt to taste. The longest and hardest part of this recipe is mashing the potatoes until they are smooth enough to eat.

There are several easy Thanksgiving recipes for a holiday dessert, one of the most popular being the pecan pie; found on dessert tables in most homes during the holiday season. Pecan pies are made using common kitchen ingredients, like eggs, butter, karo syrup and sugar and takes less than 10 minutes to mix, pour the mixture in a pie pan and place in the oven to cook. Pecan pies taken a little more than an hour to bake, but don’t need special attention while in the oven; allowing you time to prepare other items that may need more attention or preparation time.

No matter what you are in charge of bringing to your family dinner this Thanksgiving season, there are plenty of easy Thanksgiving Recipes to choose from. These recipes, while they may be easy will still need to be cooked, which may take time.

Thanksgiving fun for the kids

Thanksgiving for kids a lot of times consists of mom or grand mom shooing them out of the kitchen or dining room, outside to play or just to get them out of the way while the fevered fury of meal making activities is going at full throttle.

However, let’s consider some activities for kids of all ages so they feel a part of the activities and not isolated from them.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for family and friends, let’s make it especially joyous for the children. The little ones can engage in projects like who can draw the best turkey, or cut out old paper bags into leaves and paste their own special pilgrim pictures. You can have them work on part of a dish, maybe they can add the last minute garnishing to the mashed potatoes or make cookies and help with the pies. Anything to get them involved.

The older children can help the younger ones make a dish, that one special dish that is uniquely theirs. Remember it’s only one dish, so if it’s less than perfect make sure it’s a small side dish, something everyone can taste, that means so much when you’re young. Imagine how special the kids will feel when they know they contributed to the Thanksgiving meal.

Rather than chasing them out of sight until it’s time to eat, keep them engaged in projects that consume a lot of time without your involvement, you’re busy enough.

The teens can hang around you, sharing the tasks and learning those time honored family meal traditions unique to your family. I know families can be difficult to deal with, especially around the Holidays, that’s why it’s so important to engage the young ones in activities to keep them engaged and having fun.

Our family had an old wooden turkey body that held toothpicks. You added things like olives and chunks of cheese to the toothpicks and inserted into the turkey body to fill it out. Every year it looked different and to a child something like that is magic. Have the children be in charge of arranging the hor dourves plate. They can feel connected without that task interfering with the major meal items.

One thing you don’t want to do is create more tension or drama when trying to involve the children. Make sure, especially for the young ones, that the tasks are evenly distributed amongst the group. You don’t want yelling, crying, screaming and food fights on Thanksgiving. Hopefully when the relatives come over and see the children busy and happily engaged in the meal preparation, their children will want to join in.

It can be a wonderful time for all, young and old. It will foster family and family traditions and build bonds and memories that hopefully will last a lifetime and be eagerly passed down throughout the generations to come. Make Thanksgiving unique and special, engage your kids.

Great Thanksgiving Deserts

Even after everyone at your dinner table has had their fill of turkey and dressing this year at Thanksgiving, there’s always room for great Thanksgiving Deserts.

Pumpkin pie makes a great Thanksgiving dessert, and like many others is a traditional dessert found at most holiday dinner tables. Pumpkin pie is a relatively simple recipe, perfect for beginners wanting to start their own Thanksgiving meals. The pie crust should be baked separately, before the pie fill is added and then baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for almost an hour. A regular sized pumpkin pie will serve six to eight; depending on how big or small the slices are cut when served.

Free range fruitcakes are great Thanksgiving Deserts choices for those that don’t particularly care for the pies that are usually found on most holiday dinner tables. Fruitcakes are made of a nice variety of fruits; which include, but are not limited to; raisins, blueberries, cherries, apricots and currants with an array of spices to really add to the flavor of the cake when it is baked. Preparation time for a fruitcake isn’t long or very difficult and should be baked at 325 degrees for a little more than an hour. This cake recipe will be sure to please.

Pecan pie is another great Thanksgiving Deserts choice, traditionally found as a dessert in many kitchens during the Thanksgiving season. Pecans start falling off the tree this time of year; making the prices of pecans drop and cost significantly less to make. Pecan pies are made using common kitchen ingredients, such as butter, sugar, karo syrup, eggs, pecan and pie shells and the preparation time can be done in less than 10 minutes; less than the time it takes to preheat the oven. Bake this dessert at 350 degrees for a little more than an hour. You may need to make more than one pie as this sweet dessert will be eaten quickly and only makes six to eight slices.

Sweet potato pies are often made as a Thanksgiving Deserts as an alternative to the traditional pumpkin pie, based on the tastes of guests. Preparation time for a sweet potato pie is quick and easy, but don’t let that fool you; sweet potato pies take a long time to bake. These pies need to be bakes at 350 degrees for a little more than two hours and only serves eight slices, but is well worth the effort; especially if you don’t care for pumpkin pie.

No matter what great Thanksgiving desserts you choose when preparing for your holiday dinner remember; all that matters is spending time with friends and family members you love. Be thankful you have loved ones to spend this special holiday with and enjoy making memories that last for years.

Thanksgiving Side Dishes

When you think of Thanksgiving, you generally think of turkey. You have seen the pictures of the the perfect turkey, sitting on a platter with golden brown skin and dripping juices. There are thousands of recipes available for your Thanksgiving fowl but a meal is made up of more than one dish. It is just as important to have quality recipes for your Thanksgiving Side Dishes. You can count on a successful meal when you plan to serve a starch, at least two vegetables or fruits, and a bread.

The traditional accompaniment to turkey is stuffing or dressing. There goes your starch. For a twist on traditional practices, you could try making scalloped oysters for your dressing. Economical and very easy this side dish looks both elegant and sophisticated. Grease a deep casserole dish with butter and layer the bottom with crushed crackers. Soda crackers work well but feel free to experiment. On top of the crackers, place a layer of canned oysters sprinkled with black pepper. Dot this layer with a small amount of butter and then continue to add layers until you’ve filled the casserole dish. Add enough milk to come to the top of the mixture and bake at 350 deg until the top layer of crackers is golden brown. This dish is easy to reheat and makes excellent leftovers for the day after Thanksgiving.

Generally, your two vegetables or fruits include a green vegetable and one of another color. You might try baking sweet potatoes or preparing corn on the cob as an addition to your Thanksgiving Side Dishes. A tasty fruit side-dish is “Strawberry Salad”. Adding a container of frozen strawberries along with sliced bananas, cream cheese, pecans, and crushed pineapple to two boxes of strawberry jello makes a fancy and very tasty cold fruit dish. An added bonus is that this dish can be made the day prior to Thanksgiving thus freeing up time for other things on the holiday.

There isn’t anyone out there who doesn’t enjoy homemade yeast rolls. The smell of freshly baking bread will combine with the smell of the turkey and cause excessive drooling among those waiting for the meal. Homemade bread may seem intimidating but in reality it is very easy. In a bowl, combine 2 cups warm water, 1 tbsp. of salt, 2 tbsp. of yeast, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and 1/8 cup of brown sugar. Add flour just until the mixture no longer sticks to the sides or bottom of the bowl. If you overestimate, just add a little water until you get the consistency you desire. Once you have the dough, knead it for a little bit until it is smooth and then cover it and walk away. This is a good time to work on one of your other side dishes. In about 45 minutes the dough will have grown to about twice its size and you can form it into rolls. Put these rolls in a greased pan so they are not touching. When they have grown together (about 30 minutes), pop them in the oven at 400 deg. until they are golden brown on top.

Add any of these delicious Thanksgiving Side Dishes to your succulent turkey for a Thanksgiving meal that will make all your guests truly thankful that you cooked.

Everyone has their own unique Thanksgiving Recipes. Thanksgiving can be very much stressful. You’ve got many things that need to go in the oven. Many recipes to cook. All of your family everywhere. Lots of friends to invite. So one of the best thing that you can do for yourself is to have the best game plan, to get all the food cooked in the right order, so you don’t end up killing yourself. One the the most popular dish and probably the best dish for thanksgiving would be the ever famous Roasted Turkey. But let us try to explore on new dishes that could compliment to the famous roasted turkey and maybe, can make your thanksgiving with your family and friends more memorable.

To start with, you can prepare a Chipotle Cranberry Relish with a twist of the usual and common cranberry relish. Insted of using a regular dried chipotle, you can add up an Adobo sauce to the typical chipotle. The smokiness that the adobo sauce brings can add a really great dimension to your cranberry sauce.
On a medium sized pan, you will need to prepare 1 bag of fresh cranberries, 1 chipotle with the adobo sauce, 1 and 1/3 cups for sugar, and the juice from one lemon. Then you will need to chop and dice 1 clove of garlic, a generous amount of cinnamon, and a generous amount of cumin. You just have to simply mix them all together on the bowl.
Cook over medium heat until the cranberries start to pop. Boil them together with continuous stirring. Then simmer until the cranberry sauce thickens. You can serve it hot or cold and you can also reserve it and serve the next day. A perfect Thanksgiving Dinner Recipe.

You can also try making a Bread Pudding Thanksgiving Recipes

. It is a vegetarian dish for thanksgiving. It can also be a pretty good replacement of stuffing.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then wash, peel, and chop two pounds of squash. Microwave the squash for 5 minutes or until it’s tender. Then whisk 7 eggs into a large bowl, add 2 and 1/4 cups half and half, 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of coarse salt, and simply whisk and mix the blend.
Chop and cut one half loaf of bread into 1inch cube pieces, then add and fold the bread gently into the mixture. Then dice 2 shallots and saute until it becomes translucent. Then wash and roughly chop 1 head of kale, add the kale to the shallots, and then cover it and cook. Stir until the kale is wilted but be sure its still green.
Then generously butter a baking dish. Layer the bread, kale, and squash in the baking dish. Then add and sprinkle with 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese and layer again. Then pour the rest of the egg mixture on top.
Cover the baking dish with a clean foil and bake for 20 minutes and then uncover bake for another 20 minutes. Then broil the bread pudding until the top is crispy.

And there you have it. Two new great recipes that you can add up to your Thanksgiving Recipes

List. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Activities

Thanksgiving activities for many families focus on food and recreation. Yet Thanksgiving is a perfect time to focus on family, faith and fraternity.

•	Have children create lists of everything for which they are thankful. Young children can draw pictures. The intent is to capture the spirit of the holiday.

•	Ask children to describe the story of the first Thanksgiving.

•	Create a cornucopia. This can be done with a paper cone, wicker basket or other items in the home. For decorative purposes, you can use real or fake fruit. You can also use canned goods with attractive labels. The day after Thanksgiving, take the food to the nearest food bank or to a needy relative. Food banks tend to gear up and receive donations before the Thanksgiving holiday but need replenishment afterward.

•	Assign each child and young adult a task to help making the Thanksgiving meal along with a clean up task. This keeps children involved and prevents adults from being overloaded.

•	Instead of a betting pool for the Thanksgiving football game, tag the pool for donation to a charity the winner gets to select.

•	When conversation around the meal peters out, ask each person to list one thing they are thankful for. Make it a challenge by asking each person to name something they are thankful for that has not already been said by someone else. A thinking persons Thanksgiving Activity.

•	When the list of “thanksfuls” seems short, describe challenges that you are grateful to have overcome. Talking about lessons learned can help everyone learn lessons in life and be thankful for their own lives.

•	Have children look up thanksgiving activities for other cultures. Prayers of thanksgiving are not limited to one religion.

•	The history of the first Thanksgiving is taught in school. Ask children to identify foods at the table that could have been served at the first Thanksgiving. For extra credit, ask them the origins of other foods on the table.

•	Plan for what to do with the leftovers before you make the meal. Create lists of leftover recipes. When the leftovers are placed in the refrigerator or freezer, give leftover recipes to everyone. Then ask everyone to decide which recipes they will use and divide up leftovers to be given to each person.

Thanksgiving activities should include activities that can only take place when several generations are gathered together.

•	Collect family stories. Older children can write them down. Alternatively, have a technically savvy teen record the stories as they are told and create a video to share with everyone.

•	Record family recipes. The recipes do not have to be made for Thanksgiving. After writing them down, type them up and create copies to give to everyone after the meal. If time is an issue, create a family recipe book and send it to family members at Christmas.

•	Update your family tree with any weddings, funerals and births that have taken place in the preceding year.

•	Children can make colorful handprints on paper and turn the image into a turkey. Have each member of the family put a handprint on a sheet of paper to create a family of turkeys. As an extra challenge, have each member in turn put their handprint on the paper, then ask everyone to guess which turkey hand belongs to whom.

and as is often missed from lists of this type. Have Fun!!

Thanksgiving Recipe No One!

The day before Thanksgiving is the time to start preparing your dishes.

Terrific Thanksgiving: America’s Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

For a group of twelve people I suggest a self-basting turkey, no bigger than 16 pounds with plump breast meat. With your turkey thawed out remove the gizzards and put them in a small pan allowing them to boil slowly for at least an hour.

Recipe for a delicious dressing: Peel 5 pounds of potatoes, cut and boil until well done. In the meantime cook 3 lbs of pork sausage. In a separate pan saute celery and onions that have been finely chopped (one good sized onion and about 3 stalks of celery) .

Now mash your potatoes and add the celery and onions to the potatoes.

Drain the pork sausage and run it thru your food processor so it will be nice and fine and add that to the mashed potatoe mixture.

The last thing will be the heart and the liver. Run them thru your food processor and then add to your potatoe mixture. If the mixture seems a little dry you can add just a little of the oil from the pork sausage.

When your stuffing has cooled completely you can stuff the turkey – try not to keep eating that stuffing!! If you want to serve sweet potatoes with your dinner you can put them in the oven about 45 minutes before the turkey is done.

Stuffed celery (cream cheese), olives, sweet and dill pickles are pickies to go with your turkey. Another favorite is my broccoli surprise…

Cook up two big bunches of broccoli, while still hot have about 8 ounces of sharp cheese cubed or shaved (doesn’t matter) season with garlic powder, pepper and very little salt. Put this mixture into a baking dish.

In a separate fry pan melt at least one stick of butter.

In your food processor put in 1 to 1.5 sleeves of ritz crackers, when they are nice and fine like bread crumbs add them to the melted butter, stir well so that they are well coated and then spread them over the broccoli mixture. Bake in the oven at 325 until the cheese starts to bubble up thru the cracker crumb crust and you are done.. you will get rave reviews for this dish, I promise you.

You can also buy a ready made dough let it thaw out and shape it into a long loaf, then when it has risen cut it into round slices about 1 inch thick (on its side), place on a cooking sheet that has corn meal sprinkled on it and bake at 325 for approximately 30 minutes. Enjoy!! Your Thanksgiving Recipe No One!

We may have more Terrific Thanksgiving: America’s Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

ENTER THE WORLD OF GUILD WARS

The award-winning fantasy online roleplaying game enjoyed by millions of players. For the first time ever, Guild Wars Trilogy combines Guild Wars, Factions™, and Nightfall™ into a single amazing experience.

Begin in Guild Wars on the continent of Tyria where the human kingdoms are under attack by the vicious Charr. Journey on to the ancient continent of Cantha in Factions, a land torn apart by political strife, and threatened by the restless spirit of a long-dead traitor. Lastly, explore exotic Elona in Nightfall, where players must do battle against a god to save the land from descending into eternal night.

Play Solo or in a Party

Go it alone, join with other players, or build a party out of Heroes and henchmen that you control.

Custom Adventures

When you leave the bustling cities, experience adventures created just for you and your party.

Play With or Against Them

Build a guild with other players and enter Player vs. Player tournaments for in-game prizes.

Is a pretty poor explanation of one of the greatest online games being played on an internet connection near you. Of course I’m biased. As the Guild Wars Warrior “Hortense Slayer” or the Paladin “Primrose Meerkat” you will find me slaying enemies and rescuing friends. Give me a shout if you see me.You could even message me and I’ll join you.

To be fair there have been many many reviews of Guild Wars and I’ll let you make your own mind up about them. To my mind the only decision is from whom does one buy the Guild Wars games themselves and whose newsletter should one stay on for the best prices and news of forthcoming events..

But back to that game of Guild Wars!

From the Town Crier via Sir Tydus the battle against the Charr continues. But of course it isn’t “just” Guild Wars nowadays.

Guild Wars: Eye of the North
Guild Wars Nightfall
Guild Wars Factions
Guild Wars Prophecies

makes up the whole collection.

You don’t have to stop there there are available to the decicated player of the Guild War series a good many addons:

Change Costumes

Dragonguard Costume
Aegis of Unity Costume

Name Change

The Mercenary Hero Pack
Extra Character Slots
Xunlai Storage Pane Boxes

A Fire Imp or a Golem Hero

to assist in your travels

Extra Pets Packs

the Core Skill Unlock Pack
Prophecies Skill Unlock Pack
Factions Skill Unlock Pack
Nightfall Skill Unlock Pack
The Eye of the North Skill Unlock Pack

Of course to get an addon you first have to talk to Kolin about one or all of the main Games. I myself went the whole hog and bought “The Complete Collection” some time ago. If only I had a computer that would stand the pace!

Did someone just shout Diablo 3 in my shell like ear. That my friends is as they say a whole new (or very old) story!!!!
