Thanksgiving Recipe No One!

The day before Thanksgiving is the time to start preparing your dishes.

Terrific Thanksgiving: America’s Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

For a group of twelve people I suggest a self-basting turkey, no bigger than 16 pounds with plump breast meat. With your turkey thawed out remove the gizzards and put them in a small pan allowing them to boil slowly for at least an hour.

Recipe for a delicious dressing: Peel 5 pounds of potatoes, cut and boil until well done. In the meantime cook 3 lbs of pork sausage. In a separate pan saute celery and onions that have been finely chopped (one good sized onion and about 3 stalks of celery) .

Now mash your potatoes and add the celery and onions to the potatoes.

Drain the pork sausage and run it thru your food processor so it will be nice and fine and add that to the mashed potatoe mixture.

The last thing will be the heart and the liver. Run them thru your food processor and then add to your potatoe mixture. If the mixture seems a little dry you can add just a little of the oil from the pork sausage.

When your stuffing has cooled completely you can stuff the turkey – try not to keep eating that stuffing!! If you want to serve sweet potatoes with your dinner you can put them in the oven about 45 minutes before the turkey is done.

Stuffed celery (cream cheese), olives, sweet and dill pickles are pickies to go with your turkey. Another favorite is my broccoli surprise…

Cook up two big bunches of broccoli, while still hot have about 8 ounces of sharp cheese cubed or shaved (doesn’t matter) season with garlic powder, pepper and very little salt. Put this mixture into a baking dish.

In a separate fry pan melt at least one stick of butter.

In your food processor put in 1 to 1.5 sleeves of ritz crackers, when they are nice and fine like bread crumbs add them to the melted butter, stir well so that they are well coated and then spread them over the broccoli mixture. Bake in the oven at 325 until the cheese starts to bubble up thru the cracker crumb crust and you are done.. you will get rave reviews for this dish, I promise you.

You can also buy a ready made dough let it thaw out and shape it into a long loaf, then when it has risen cut it into round slices about 1 inch thick (on its side), place on a cooking sheet that has corn meal sprinkled on it and bake at 325 for approximately 30 minutes. Enjoy!! Your Thanksgiving Recipe No One!
